Matt Withers and Callum Henshaw, two of Canberra’s well-known guitar virtuosos, will be performing two guitar works in a concert with the National Capital Orchestra, conducted by its musical director, Leonard Weiss.

“NCO is proud to present 4 exciting works! Starting with the fun World Premiere of Zodiac Animalia, in which Australian composer Jessica Wells beautifully captures the personality of each of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. We welcome back Matt Withers – Australian Guitarist as soloist for the Castelnuovo-Tedesco Guitar Concerto as well as Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal for 2 Guitars and Orchestra with Callum Henshaw – Classical Guitarist. The fiesta continues with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol. You can hear Jessica Well speak about her composition and the rest of the concert program at a free pre-concert talk, commencing at 6:30pm.”
